'Kitchen Witches' play opens Friday

The plot follows two young women, best friends, who have a contentious falling out over - what else? - a man. Isobel Lomax, played by Cathy Young, had been dating Larry Biddle, but Dolly Biddle, played by LeeAnn Bertram, ended up marrying him. The two haven't spoken in years when they are thrown together, against their wills, to co-host a local cable cooking show. Insults fly faster than the food as these two women gnaw on each other down to the bone - and the audience's funnybone.

Also in the cast are Will Greene as Stephen Biddle, Dolly's son and producer of the show and Amanda Moss as Syd-the do-it-all, behind-the-scenes, clean-up-the-mess cameraperson. Terry Loyd is the stage manager, with Mike Baccus running sound.
Performances are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Jan. 16 through Feb. 1. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with the Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.
The theater is located just three blocks north of the Lake Wales Public Library at 411 N. 3rd. Street. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $9 for students 18 and younger.
